How much does MTS improve connect times?

Question:

I've heard MTS Pooling can improve second and subsequent connect times to
Oracle and MSSQL. Can you tell me more about the speed improvements?

Answer:

In small tests the following has been measured for second a subsequent connects:

Oracle 8, MTS ON,Average Connect Time: .13 seconds
MSSQL, MTS ON, Average Connect Time: .13 seconds

Oracle 8, MTS OFF, Average Connect Time: .45 seconds
MSSQL, MTS OFF, Average Connect Time: .65 seconds
