Question:

I need to back up my Interbase database and do this with the commandline tool 'gbak'. I have done this many times before, but today I get this message:

Done with volume #1, "new.gbak"
Press return to reopen that file, or type a new
name followed by return to open a different file.

What does it mean?

Answer:

You ran out of disk space in your active disk or partition. Do not just hit 'Enter' when prompted. If you just press return the result will be a corrupted backup file. Instead free some disk space or pick another target location for volume #2.

I would suggest to free space and start all over, so that your backup file is only one single file.
