What to do about $210A error message

Question:

I have a 210A error message, what can I do about it? I am trying to open a program called 'Recipe Box 6.2'.

Answer:

Error 210A means 'Cannot load IDAPI library'. This means that your software 'Recipe Box' uses the BDE. A good installation program should check if the BDE is already installed and if not offer to install it.

Does that recipe box software come with something called BDE installation or so? It might be a different folder on your installation disk, or a different disk (the BDE tends to need a full floppy disk) or maybe a separated download from the manufacturer.

If not, you might find a place on the web where you can download a copy of the BDE installation. It would be better to use the BDE that came with the recipe software, because there are different versions of the BDE and the recipe box software might only work with specific versions.
