CompareString() versus AnsiCompareString()

What is the difference between CompareString() and AnsiCompareString()?

Some languages have characters outside of the ASCII character set; these two strings will compare differently depending on whether you use CompareString or AnsiCompareString:

CompareString()
'das'
'dau'
'daß'

'ß' is a German character, and with AnsiCompareString, the correct lexical order returned would be different:

AnsiCompareString()
'das'
'daß'
'dau'
AnsiCompareString observes the lexical order of your current locale - while CompareString only looks at the bits and bytes of the data. If you want to compare 'text', then do use AnsiCompareString. If you want to compare ASCII-only text (or just bytes), then use CompareString.

Hi All, I looking for solution for my programm of Holy Bible The text file looks like that: Ex1,1 Ex1,1 text of verset Ex1,2 Ex1,2 text of verset and so on Knowing each book of Bible has own number of hapter and chapter own number of versets I looking for solution how to count in my file whole versets of each chapter (?) I need it to make something like 'blokade' for UpDown component to do not search by User unexist verset Please, help me with and send your solution on my aggress : kallas555@wp.pl
