I get questionable emails to my Yahoo! Mail account. How can I find out the sender's IP address and where the sender is coming from?
Follow these steps to find the sender's IP address in Yahoo! Mail:
1. Log into your Yahoo! mail with your username and password.
2. Click on Inbox or whichever folder you have stored your mail in.
3. Open the mail.
4. If you can't see the headers above the mail message, your headers are not displayed. To display the headers,
* Click on 'Options' in the top-right corner
* In the 'Mail Options' page, click on 'General Preferences'
* Scroll down to Messages where you have the Headers option
* Make sure that 'Show all headers on incoming messages' is selected
* Click on the Save button
* Go back to the mails and open that mail
5. You should now see the headers.
6. Look for Received: from followed by the IP address between square brackets [ ]. For example [220.127.116.11]
This is the IP address of the sender.
If there are lots of Received: from with IP addresses, select the IP address in the last pattern. If there are no instances of Received: from with the IP address, select the first IP address in X-Originating-IP.
8. Trace the IP address of the sender using http://www.ripe.net/perl/whois

Does anyone out there know the fellar below? He tells me his name is Antonio Svante & was born in Australia. Works for a mining company in Africa & says he lives in Arlington Heights, IL. First he hinted for money to send to his sick mother; then his bank account was frozen and finally, he convinced me to get a passport to travel with him back home to Australia to meet his family. Thank goodness the passport has not arrived yet. Then he started wanting my bank account number so he could have his customer deposit the money for his job in my checking account so I could have some money for the trip & he could have work money since his & company account were frozen. No phone to contact him. Only e-mail or IM! And guess what, he has disappeared when I didn't obey his command. Thank you God for a little common sense in me.
If anyone has dealt with him (firstname.lastname@example.org), please let me know.
First at all, thank you to everybody for this so useful information page...i´ve been writting to several Russian girls, and by the photos and the comments they sent to me,and after reading all these practical articles,i beleive that most of them are dating scammers...I have my profile in Badoo-NXclub but there are people from all the world and many of them are real persons,,but searching girls whith similar profiles that i like,i saw these 'wonderful'girls searching men for relationship...and after sending e-mails and a time of correspondence.I noticed that it´s a great lie...and all what you say about the photos and the characters who appear on it are false..So be careful and don´t write to this kind of people´cause after some letters and ,why not, many ilussions of you respect to them,at the end,you shall notice that your dreams about them are a bad dream come true....thank you again for these articles.

tracking 'my' several russian scammer's IP I always find a net provider adress, most cases in US, California, or Stanford Connecticut, London, Paris several cities in France, Germany etc...onely one case in Russia (oksar.ola or something about)
(All the pictures they send are well known on this site, letters patern too)
Some of them have always the same location, some other change at each mail
What does it mean?
Are they realy russian and have haked these computers and nets? reported cases?
Are there 'russian' scammers from all countries?
If they are hackers, did they pick the photos of girls on hacked PCs?
Thank's for answers, sorry for poor english
