Find the provider of a cell phone number

Question:

How can I determine which provider is behind a certain cell phone number?

Answer:

You could just call that number and ask the owner. Or you could listen to the voice mail announcement and compare it to those that you know.

Or you could use this web site http://www.reversephonedirectory.com/ and try a reverse search.
That site will tell you that they did not find a (people) listing for your phone number but they will tell you something like the text below (better than nothing)

UPDATE:
I found today this site: http://fonefinder.net/
I ran it on my own cell phone number and I really liked their (accurate) output.

The phone number "(xxx) xxx-xxxx" is a Salinas, CA
based phone number and the registered carrier is Cellco Partnership
Dba Verizon Wireless - Ca.
However, due to number portability, some numbers have been transferred to
a new service provider other than the registered carrier.

There is a scammer working from Obuasi Ghana she goes by the name of Suzzie Williams and with an alias of Anita.Antw26. Its the same old patter for a weeek or two then Mum is Ill or I have lost my job, I have to leave my house as i am in arrears and my landlord want's the
or I need money for my phone or I cant talk to you anymore, If you can think of any thing they have done it they don't take no for an answer so one has to insult them or just block them on Skype and report them. what are we supposed to do if their own beutifull Country will not do any thing to stop them I is a disgrace to let this go on!

Hello,

you can make a MNP Query in Real-Time worldwide with the mobile number.

There is a service on http://www.mobilene..nder.com.
Works like a charm.

The mobile net finder checks LIVE in which network a mobile number is registered. A must-have for all of you, who use a cellphone or text-message flat for only one wireless network.
The network finder can verify your phone number in real time – so not just by your code. Also at ported numbers, the current number will be displayed.

· You will get the info if the mobile number is a valid one
· The Country
· Brand
· Operator
· Status
· Bands
· References and notes (if exist)

sometimes you can find additional carriers for text message sends, especially from those alledged free text send websites, they do work, have used them off and on; also have found more than one carrier will work using that as well.

So for now there is a second cell carrier in use for the number I use for mobile system used as present, it does work from a computer, don't know if it will work reversed but probably could be done using the proper address format for the mobile number from the mobile phone, I've done that before finding out that also works.

For example, from a cell to a computer email, input the address right, it does work, so that finding showed me an additional carrier from the one established with the system in place at present. Additionally, then it's not required for me to be registered or signed up with that system not a carrier. It's the system in place for now, I know to the future carriers though are going to stop these tricks not known, it's almost by accident or trial and error they are found out.

This is how cellphone theves do, they steal a phone, re-register it as is, then get to use the system already there. Just recently though, carriers are implementing a system to stop the cell theft, it will work and means the end of stolen phone free usage; theves have gotten around this, for example being barred from phone use to abuse or whatever; they can't get a phone, like in the case for drunk driving your license is revoked or suspended; they steal a phone somehow, get it redone in the name of the carrier already there frauding the system, then use that system and phone.

This will stop starting this year, and next and on. There will be data bases collating and collecting info for the SIM card and/or phone id to that cell mobile registered. If stolen, then data is taken action against this info, to bar the use per mobile system, plus any carrier to the data base established already there. This prevents future use to the system in place per cell system, plus again, per SIM registration in place. It won't work or ever work again since the data stops input/output per carrier and SIM.

Unique, have figured out how they're gonna do this, know it will work. So stolen phones, your days are numbered. Glad I was never a theif, but do know the systems well enough to could have been freebie day all day for years to come, didn't do that though, was good about this.

the phonefinder.net only lists the original carrier phone number. it does not show where the number was ported to.

If you want to call a service that can give you the corrected information:

http://www.smsmatri..t-pricing

and https://www.carrierl..index.php

both provided the correct carrier after a number port.

FYI,
jeff
