Comes off as highly educated, refined Spanish banker who lives a comfortable life. He 'drives' a BMW 600 series car, a BMW bike, loves Italian shoes, designer clothes, owns a nice duplex in suburb of Madrid, attends Mass every Sunday, has 15 year old daughter he visits twice a month... will send you essays on various subjects from how fell in love with music to what 'you' want in a partner.

Definitely not your typical Nigerian scammer so BEWARE - he is slick and charming.

Carlos is a dream. He courted me for a month intending to visit in August. When he called to ask me to help a friend by opening an accout as his bank, I immediately googled him and found the same hot body, and same SCAM story. Another blog I found has 2 others posted who took his bait.

Fortunately, I date other men and was more curious, definitely not in love. It seems the best ones are married and wander at their discretion. The single ones over 50 are either shallow, emotionally unavailable, do to self medicating for depression/ADD or suffer Erectile Dysfunction.

Why do men wander? Their wives quit treating them like Prince Charming. They don't listen and laugh at the same old stories, they find sex a bother, and they have other priorities. There is nothing more delicate than the male ego, and nothing more important than sex.

My advise is to be happy with who you are, what you have and enjoy the gifts that life brings you. Once you realize that happiness comes from within your heart, you will not be so desparate to find 'Prince Charming'.

Carlos must have tried to scam you right after me. I Google'd him right from the start and found nothing on him, just a couple of other men by the same name, but clearly not the same guy. He found me on a dating site.

Once you turned down his offer did he stop writing you? His English wasn't so bad, not like the typical Nigerian scammer. Thank God I didn't lose any money, I wouldn't give out my account information to friends! I feel sorry for the poor guy whose photos are being used and he probably doesn't have a clue!

This sounds like a man that I have been talking with on phone and online with, since first part of June. Different pictures, but similiar MO. Works as investment advisor, located out of Madrid, Spain. Different set of pics, and different name. Seems well educated, goes to mass regularily, has college aged son studying medicine, that lives with ex wife in Australia. Has mother in Barcelona, he visits often. Writes and likes poetry, and his poems are originals not copied off internet site or from books, as I checked to see. Just recently wanted me to open an account on a bank in Spain, that he willl put money into--to start a business so he can move to the US. Planning on visiting me over Christmas holiday. I have not opened any accounts for him BUT did help him purchase an iPhone for his son's birthday. He wired me the money (Western Union) for, and has paid the phone bill on. He has never asked me for money, and has offerred to send me money. Has sent flowers and other small gifts to me. Just wondering if he might be this same person, or if he is legitimate. Would like to compare notes, such as photos, and phone numbers of this person with anyone else that might have gotten scammed by a Spanish Banker of Investment advisor! Post me a message on this board and I will give you email address to contact and compare notes. Is too good to be true, and think I might be being scammed by this same person.

Hello, one year ago, I have met a man at Plenty of Fish that seems to be the same you are talking about, he worked for an Spanish Bank but he said he was from Ireland. He was very sweet, educated, sent poetry some were original (or at least I can't find them) others copy and paste. Lived in Spain, and had his daughter living with his father in Ireland. Everything was beautiful until he asked me to open an account at the bank he worked for, because he had a Spanish client hat wanted to avoid taxes, so one way was that someone who lived abroad did the transaction. He send the formats and a phone of the bank, but all that sounded strange to me so finally he broke our relationship because we were not compatible. I don't know if it is the same man. One thing even though he had been living in Spain for 10 years, he spoke little Spanish, he said he worked with people from abroad so he did not need to speak so much Spanish.
