This guy says he is 38 on okcupid and 33 on webdate.

I exchanged a few emails and IM's after meeting him on OKcupid. He is supposedly Irish, living in the U.S. but travels to France, Italy & Africa for business. He says he is a gemstone buyer. His command of English is not good, he gets very testy if you ask personal questions, and he was quick to want to form a romantic bond without wanting to meet...since he is out of the country so much. I decided to ignore him and he sent me an IM with a virus attached. I didn't think much about him being a scammer until recently and decided to do a little research. I had unfortunately deleted his emails so I can't track his IP address. I found the second profile at webdate with conflicting information. I feel sure he is a scammer of some sort.

Both accounts on the dating sites are stmac102030.

This man says that he is Brown Smith from Laurel, Maryland and says he is 36yrs old on myyearbook. He is not who he say's he is. He asks you for money because he's been in car accident in another country. He says he loves you and will come be with you but all you need to do is send him any amount of money. Please be weary of him.

It's interesting that I came across this site, even though all it's postings are from a few years ago. I came across a guy with somewhat similar stories. We spoke on skype everyday for about a month... he wouldn't tell me ANYTHING personal about himself and like the original person said, would get testy when you inquired about things. Wouldn't send a picture, wouldn't give a phone number. Claimed he had a stalker years ago and that it ruined his desire to share info like that. One comment of your story about him being a gemstone buyer really is what brought me to comment. He used to always talk about going hiking and looking in old gem mines... says he had thousands of dollars worth of gems at home.... his written english was atrocious. Spelling was a big thing between us... he was real good with words, but spelling was God awful. Said he was a sub-contractor who lived about 2 hrs south of Chicago. Never asked me for money but made comments about his birthday on a regular basis and going to Vegas. I looked his IP up on another site - btw, it's a yahoo IP, NOT this guy's specific IP - But I read a lot of similar stories about a birthday and vegas trip then suddenly disappearing which is EXACTLY what he did to me... The only thing I'm worried about is that he knows my address and the occupants names of the house I currently live at. I sincerely hope that he doesn't have a way to get a hold of mine or my family's information.... I'd be to blame and I'd feel horrible... bad enough I fell for his tricks...
