Address:
Nashville, TN; Accord, MA; Acton, MA

Other Comments:
This was typical of the other scammers from what I'm reading. I approached him on Match.com. Within two weeks he was saying he loved me. He said that he had raised his sister's son after she died when he was 27 and that because he was so work oriented, no relationships worked, so he was still single. He said he was born in the US but moved to Portugal when he was 2 after his parent's divorce. Then, his parents reunited when he was nine and his father and sister joined the mother and him in Portugal. He claims to be a lawyer in Portugal who has now spent the last eight years running family businesses.

He said he was 45, ran his uncles construction company in Nashville, TN as well a diamond importing and stock brokerage company that his father started. the toll free number for the construction company is 866-980-7773 and is answered as Teneton Construction, but the first two times I called it was Nantec Construction. The phone number is owned by a VOIP company in Nashville. I assume that is how the scammer managed to make outgoing calls from that number.

He said he was originally from Portugal, and also spoke Spanish, Italian, and French.

The pictures he sent along never included a pic of the son/nephew, but beware,I asked for ne wpictures and got two that day with the correct time stamp on them. I have no real idea of how he managed to do that.

He claimed to be travelling all the time when I offered for us to meet in a neutral place like NYC. I often wondered why he never seemed to sleep, now realize that there was probably more than one person at the other end.

It is amazing that he/they managed to keep all details of my life straight, and yes, we talked on the phone almost daily.

I hesitate to post pictures out of respect for the other victim in this, the person whose photos were passed off as being 'Tony Willson'. I am sure that the person whose pictures I received was probably the victim of a female scammer. I will post two pics that I received, and for one reason...because I almost believed that this was not a scammer simply because I did not find his pictures anywhere on this site.

I did, int he last month, received two dozen roses and also viewed an intinerary on line to the name of Tony Willson, no doubt paid for with a stolen credit card.

Without this site, I would never have thought to check for the originating IP address, thank you for the info. Every email I received from him came from Ghana, regardless of where he said he was.

There were a couple of slip ups that I not only noticed but called him out on. One was when he took a trip to Vegas and said he was flying home at a particular time but I checked flight scheduled and found no flights that would have put him back in Nashville as quickly as he got there. The second slip up was when he sent me an email that had the exactly same paragraph that I'd received in an email two days earlier. I think you have to pay attention to that stuff, but it's far easier to just find out where the email is coming from. Tennessee email does not route through Ghana.

In checking some web sites about Ghana, I found that the USN ship the USS Tennessee is docked there and has been for months, so perhaps that is where the Tennessee connection came from. I met this man on MATCH.COM...which I had always thought was a safe place to meet someone. Since reactivating my profile on that site, I have received approximately four or five emails a day from far flung users, and all of them sound consistent with teh scammer MO I saw...'I will treat you like a Queen', misspellings, bad grammer, etc.

These dating scammer profiles are easy to pick out once you know the scam. I just identified about a dozen as I went searching out of curiosity. In fact, I just called one out...two seconds later, his profile was gone. I think I found a new hobbie. Similarities of their profiles are: fairly good-looking, around 45 yrs. old, their age-range preference is ten yrs. younger and ten yrs. older (35-55), a lot of the time they are widowed maybe with one child, spelling/grammar is not good, tense of verbs especially - instead of saying I 'would' love to tell you, they say I 'will' love to tell you. They say their jobs are flexible so they have a lot of time on their hands which explains why they are emailing you at all hours consistently. They talk about EMOTIONS mostly. They say they have had parents/grandparents who taught them how to treat a woman right. They aSCUM! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello Anonymous
Good observation Yes Scammer postings are very easy to spot.
I went on one site and found one scammer with twenty listings.
I posted messages on all 20 and within under a hour they all magically disappeared. LOL
Tragically that didn't do much as they are everywhere. I got sick of dating sites.
But have enjoyed ruining their business. LOL I hope more people wake up to
the fact these ass holes target mostly older men or woman. Such a gullible
crowed we are. Getting our hopes up over some young pretty thing. Or woman
see Mr. right. LOL There main stock and trade comes from manipulating
their victims. They are very good at targeting emotion's just like you say.
My scammer still to this day can be found just by Googling her name.
Cosmos Dorcas Faibi. When the page comes up there is several listings of
someone with that name in the US that person is not connected to the scammer.
Its the one who's listing is from a dating site. Ironically my postings of her on Delphifaq
appear just below the scammer. LOL I hope some day that dating site gets around
to removing He / She You never know what sex a scammer really is ?
Be careful out there and keep yours eyes open at all times.
Kind Regards Agent 86 Maxwell Smart \\'^o^'//

I have made a hobby out of looking for these f----rs!! That's one way to slow them down. Although, I think they probably have a whole team of people who just create profiles. Check out Romancescam.com, there are alot of pictures there. In fact I have come across at least 10 pics on that website that I can trace back to MySpace. I put a little note to the little bastards on my MySpace page. I doubt they will be stupid enough to target me again. It's plain as day and since I have posted it, ironically I haven't gotten a single one!! Make sure to post the pics you get from them on as many scammer sites as possible. I know when I realized what was going on I started researching, I have spent more time in the last 4 days in front of the computer than I have sleeping. I think I got off pretty good, I hadn't invested all that much time and the f----r didn't get a dime, so....Thank God!! Good luck and just remember, 'KARMA IS A BITCH'!!!!

Mr. Tony, twillson35@yahoo.com, has been a busy little beaver with more than two people. We were actually communicating since Feb. with the hope of hooking up soon. The same MO was communicated with proposals of marriage in the near future and making him a better person. HA!! :) I'm suprised that he never asked for money. There is definately more than one person working this, but there is no way to prevent them. We can only educate ourselves and others because not every search shows this.. I have searched since knowing his name and e-mail adress with no luck until now. Good luck to all who have wasted one correspondence with this type of person.

Just out of curiosity, where are you from, where did he say he was, di dyou hear the story about the stock brokerage and diamond importing? Construction company? Did you get phone numbers to reach him? If so, please post them so that we can help others from being scammed.

Same line as most of you with a few twist probably b/c of the type of questions and interest. The location I live in obviously fits the radius he had at match. This must be a new target area using this name.
Why all the interest in reliving this? This group of 'its' have already wasted too much of your time, and the rest of ours, so why let them waste more and give them a sense of control of your life. You did your job of getting this out to others and put the name on the web. Believe me, I started searching after a name and e-mail was provided to get nowhere. Probably due to the group beginning in the area. THANK YOU
I think people need to realize that these groups probably have posers reading these comments as well as responding and changing their information accordingly. All the information we state is never going to be enough b/c they will change something and move on to different areas.
Besides us being cautious, the change needs to come from the dating site being more careful into checking out certain e-mail addresses, looking for common threads, and notifying members about when reports are made. They should have a program comparing pictures with these scammer sites. Which, I still haven't heard anything from Match. There needs to be an easy access reporting place to give this information too that's going to be taken seriously. Unfortunately, dating scammers aren't too serious on the list where the world has so much violence. But if you believe in God, just think, these group of 'its' enjoy using this as part of a security blanket will be the ONE in the end they answer too. As corny as that sounds. That's all I need to realize.
It's just a shame these people's pictures are being used and the country of Ghana is being portrayed in this poor manner.

I agree with all you said, and as I posted originally, I hesitated to post the pics supplied to me because I'm sure that poor man has no idea that his photos are being used and think it's likely that he is a victim of a female scammer, or was just arbitrarily picked from facebook or tagged or some other site.

I agree that Match drops the ball on this stuff. I actually asked for 'tony's' profile to be dropped about five times before it disappeared.

Be prepared to get inundated with other fake profiles for a couple of weeks. Your profile name will be shared and you will be very busy handing out the 'how's the weather in Ghana' emails...

Ironically, 'Tony' told me at one point during a fictitious conflict with business partners that 'they will be paid with their own coin'. Karma is a bitch and so is the final reckoning...

As to why I requested that you share some details is simple...because there is definitely a healing process, perhaps you were not that invested in the relationship, each person moves at their own pace and it also depends on how long you've been talking to them.

When I first found this site, I needed every possible affirmation that I was indeed being scammed, and that meant not only seeing the IP addresses of emails received, but it also meant hearing the same story from others. There are those who will have a harder time believing than you did, my friend, and for them, details bring it into clarity.

But to each their own and if you don't want to share, you shouldn't. The healing process is different for everyone.

Hello Everyone here
I have been looking over the recent postings and while there have been some very
good things put out here there are a few things, I feel should be said.
To begin with posting information here or anywhere else is never a waste of time.
One can learn a lot while reading about others experiences. I'm not saying make
this your daily reading. But there is a lot that can be accomplished by people
paying attention. You have the ability to get the word out about these blood suckers.
It is very true the scammers watch this site. They have to it scares them.
Posting pictures that were stolen from a victim is important for many reasons.
The person who's photo's have been used in scam's gets the chance to find out
that it is occurring for one. Once a photo is put in the system other people who are
being scammed while they may have a different name or e mail address can see
that photo was being used else where. Also once a photo is put in the system it
immediately hinders the scammer from continuing to use it again and again.
Not posting a photo leaves it for the scammers to use as they please.
I agree that God will have a accounting for these people that do more damage
emotionally to their victims than money could ever be worth. But since the Government's
of many nations do nothing to stop this. Its up to us to do something until something
is done. This site helps countless people who are to ashamed to post anything.
All it takes for evil to succeed in this world is men and woman that will not speak up.
If you want to keep using dating sites good luck with that. I myself will never use one
again. No sense in it really. Much like opening up to being scammed. You never should
send money to someone you do not know even then you should verify its really your
family or good friend. Why should you put your heart out there to someone you never
met. Why protect your money but not your heart ? I personally would rather live the
rest of my life alone than go on line again. Thats just me OK, no argument about
your choice. If the good Lord wants me to meet someone then why should, I worry
when all, I have to do is wait for who he wants me with. Meeting someone in person
is the goal of on line dating after all isn't it ? Out of 6 scammers 4 came from
Christianmingle. I remember telling other woman on their that, I was contacted by
scammers they laughed at me. Well, I have seen woman posting who were on there
on here now. Its so much easier to look someone in the eye and know if their telling the truth. No one is controlling my life right now, I'm helping as many as, I can and making mistakes and learning all at the same time. Its really got me outside myself and
has had a healing effect. The scammers exploit our weakness and that is at least
as far as my 50 something generation goes we grew up respecting each other and
trusting each other. You will never be healed completely until you have restored
what has been stolen from you. You must be able to trust your own judgment again.
The hurt runs very deep. Only people who have been hurt in this way can understand it.
I enjoy tearing into a scammer once in awhile very therapeutic. Anger issues maybe ?
but they were there from being a Disabled Vietnam Veteran. You know the Veterans
that nobody cared about. I loved being shunned at my twentieth reunion.
Please save your sympathy for Ghana until it and most of Africa stop all the crimes.
It was nice to see that Captain got rescued to bad 3 more ships were taken.
If the People in Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, or most of the rest of Africa really cared
about how the world See's them then they would do something besides attack the
police that are arresting their brothers in raids on Internet Cafes. On You Tube
there is a video of the 419 scammers. Good watch. Well, I have taken up your time
and good Lord knows what kind of reaction this will get. I can see there is good intent
in most of what, I have read on this thread. My main point is always to help others.
I'm not here to make anyone mad unless your a scammer then, I'm all set for
anything they can give. I believe a man should respect a woman and also protect
a woman. Hard wired that way. Please help each other is the most important thing.
Kind Regards Agent 86 Maxwell Smart \\'^o^'//
