I agree 100% with You on this as most of the victims on this site
were scammed only because they just like You had no idea this
happens hundreds of times each day.

Only people complaining in large enough numbers can effect change.

Be aware some dating sites have been suspected in participating in the scams.

I Personally will never use a dating site ever again I have seen to much.
No dating site is safe no matter what the claim.

Just study the reports here and You will eventually find every dating
site there is listed here by victims.

Please be careful now You have been scammed.
Scammers never stop EVER

They have Your information now and will come after You again.
Blocking them is next to useless.
They have many e mail addresses and phone numbers and plenty
fake ID's and stolen photo's.
Scammers that scam Woman are the worst for this.
So please no matter what You do no matter what is said to You.
NEVER ALLOW A SCAMMER TO CONTACT YOU EVER AGAIN.

If You allow a single conversation with Your scammer to occur again.
That scammer will never stop trying to scam You.

Without looking them up the first number you gave looks like it is
from Ghana, While the second number looks like Nigeria.
That can be true as Scammers can make themselves to appear from
anywhere in the World.

Just a Guess most likely Your scammer is from Nigeria.
As 90% or higher of all scams done on Woman come from Nigeria.

Simple rule to live by.
If Anyone and I mean Anyone try's to contact You with any connection
to West Africa no matter if they say they are from anywhere else.
Its 100% Scammers.
There are No White or Black, Men or Woman on line at all from
Nigeria, Ghana, Dakar Senegal, Benin Republic, Any Refugee Camp,
Gold Coast, Ivory Coast, All of West Africa is 100% Scammers.
THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS.

Not even if they claim to be Police or Government or any other reason.

Be careful and if You are ever in doubt ask questions here.

This same guy tried to play me. Glad to finally know it was a scam. He was better than most.

Thanks Maxwell Smart! :) If I'd only known! It all happened so fast I am still in a bit of shock about it - I will help however I can if there is something we can do to get the B**tards - should I be advising at any other sites?
I have to wonder if Match is in on this scam - I sent them 3 emails to remove this pig and nothing in 5 days.... I am sure they are not, but really - no action in over 5 days? Who else is he playing along right now? I hate to think.

To anonymous - I know he was good, wasn't he? I really had no clue. but I do NOW!

I let match.com know as well just today. Last time I spoke to him was Monday morning and after I told him I didn't think he was real, I haven't heard from him since. Then, I found your post today.

The Dirty Truth about scammers is most of the time they get away
with it and nothing gets done to slow them down.

Governments do little or nothing at all to help.

Dating sites cannot have it known by the General Public that
they are overrun at times by scammers using their sites.

I can Google My scammers name which is fake to this very day
after almost a full year and still be able to find a list of sites She is
listed on right now.

I have made sweeps through sites confronting the scammer with
the fact I knew who and what they are.
It only gets them to pull that listing temporarily.

Trying to report scammers to the Governments of the Countries they
work out of is mostly useless.
Ghana has actually asked Me for money to investigate.

EFCC is the legal code in Nigeria used to prosecute scammers.

Today I received a fake EFCC e mail from the scammers.

Promising Me help to recover my money because my address
appeared in a scammers computer and that I may be rewarded
$ 150,000.00 USD for My assistance. LOL

One really big problem to that is I was never scammed by anyone in Nigeria. LOL

So You see, No one no matter who they claim to be from West Africa
can be trusted at all.

OK enough about the Dark side of this topic.

The good news is there has been some real progress made in Busting
some of these scammers.
Unfortunately we don't get to hear much about that because while
a investigation is active no one talks about it.

We are pretty much faced with helping as many individuals as possible.
Then by word of mouth getting the truth out there any way we can.

Reporting scammers every chance we get and believe it or not this
site is the front lines of the war.
Scammers post messages here saying, We are not doing any good.
Strange why do they go out of their way to come here and try to
disrupt what goes on here ?

Very simple, We are hurting them directly by getting people to stop
being scammed and more and more people are telling their friends.
The Financial impact that has on the Scammers is making them
more and more desperate to stop the truth here.

I Love to confront scammers on this site as it shows they are having
to take time out of scamming to be here.
The more I can waste their time the better.

Whatever path You choose to help in stopping these Heartless Criminals
is greatly appreciated.
Be very Careful though how You do it.
Make sure Your dealing with real Honest people.
Never pay for anything no matter what excuse is given.

Fake FBI reports, Also Fake EFCC as I explained above.

I have stopped all connection to all Dating sites as they should be
stopped completely until a system is put in place that actually
Guarantees the safety of the users.

Try to learn all You can about scams and scammers so You know

Just an update - he sent me an email saying he was sending the money back on Monday.... I am still laughing. And he understands why I didn't trust him and it is ok. He is going to send me tickets to his Fashion show.... He did get 'back home' too. WHAT? lol

I, too, was totally fooled by Marino Rico Ampelio. He's very good - not like your typical scammer who fabricates such a ridiculous story that it would be impossible not to question. He provides a tremendous amount of detail and knowledge about fashion and other things - it's not just the usual 'I love you, baby, you are my everything' drivel. Not only does he have a page in I-Italy, he also has a site for 'Ampeliovestiti Designs' at http://ampeliovesti..gspot.com/ He formerly called his company Marinoricks Designs but has now magically changed it to Ampeliovestiti Designs.

Yes, he has everything set up for us to see and 'believe'. Its only when we dig deeper that we see all the fakery. His address : 241 Hoxton Street, London, UK N1 5Lg is in fact a 'Best Kebabs ever' take out place..... and I still get emails from him as well - he is upset with me for posting this information to the internet. Hah!

He's been busted and he's not happy about it at all. In an earlier version of his biography, I found that he had actually taken the wording directly off the biography of another fashion designer - a REAL one (Ada Zanditon). He didn't even bother re-wording it. In one version of his biography, he was trained at the London College of Fashion, but in another, he was trained at the DeMontfort School of Design. He has gone to great lengths to create his fake persona, though. The email address he uses for his blogspot is a Swedish (.se) email address so who knows where he really is!

I have run into a number of scammers on match.com but Marino, or whoever he is, has by far been the most entertaining...yes, it makes me mad that there are people like him who prey on others but by passing on all this information, we can prevent others from falling into any scams! And Marino, if you are reading this, just remember, what goes around comes around. Just keep looking over your shoulder.

I tried to upload my picture of 'Marino' and 'Vanessa' but for some reason it doesn't seem to show. It's on the i-Italy site.

Add me to the list of people scammed by Marino - or whoever he is. I'm sorry I'm not the only one, but glad I found others who know about him too. The pictures that were sent to me were of the dark-haired Marino. I also have some of him with Vanessa. I will contact match, but I did this in late July, and nothing happened. That's when suddenly his username along with city and state changed. I'm willing to help in whatever way I can.
