Had been talking to 'James Ramos' for about a week did not know about scams and then asked me to send $1500 to Achimota
Ghana to sirrue.diplo234@gmail.com so this diplomat could bring all his worldly possesions to me from Iraq to look after until he arrived home in August. I emailed the diplomat and he sent me an address which I googled and it brought me to your site. I then emailed 'James Ramos' who was also supposed to Western Union $1500 to this person told him I suspected this to be a scam and have not heard from since. I have since researched James Ramos who does exist in the States and believe he is the victim of identity theft however am not sure where to take it from there. I also have had five other conversations with people on match.com all male four of which are US Army who as soon as I mention scam and what happened they disappear. Is this common?

My best friend is involved with this man named Craig Ramos who says he is in the oil business. They met on a dating site about 8 months ago. They have never met in person. Was in the army now retired Widow has one daughter and other daughter and wife were killed in a car accident. I saw his phone numbers posted by another person on this site with a different first name. He says he wants to marry my friend and he has borrowed a lot of money for this oil business. First the oil vessel had a broken propeller and he got money from her to get it repaired. Then there is some port clearance tax that needs to be paid before the oil is unloaded. All this is happening in Russia He has never met my friend in person but says he is coming soon and he wants to marry her. He send her a check made out to him for a large amount of money and says he will cash it when he comes to see her.
Is there anyone out there that knows if this is a scammer?

I recently was approached in Facebook by this scammer, using the name Willson Kelvin Miller. I did question him about the name tag'Ramos'. He told me his commander wanted him to wear that to honour a past commander in the unit. He hasn't asked me for any money yet, but he did fall in love with me fast and wants to marry me when he gets back from Afghanistan.
I became suspicious when I saw the name tag.... also his English was not that good especially if he is from the States..
he uses the same picures in Facebook and more.

...Reply to original comments,

Yes! It is very common for the scammer to disappear when they
realize that their identity and autonomy is at risk. When they
are impersonating a US service member they reap great profits
from the unweary victim, yet they know that the US Government
is well prepared and aware of their activity.
Always ready to prosecute them!
So they run!!

he is now saying he is Frank Ramos Williams, even though the picture he uses is the one where it clearly shows Ramos as the last name, he started sending me messages this week!! He is using a phone number of 802-321-8456.

He says he had to watch the love of his life die and he has a six year old daughter, he says he is stationed in Vermont but set to leave in 2 wks. I hope he asks for some money!! Hahahahahaha!!! I'm from TN and he hasn't ever been talked to like a redneck can talk to him. People are so cruel, I do feel sorry for the guy that is really in these pictures!

This photo are still used.. I happened to encounter this photos, we chatted for 3 weeks and introduced himself as major kevin wilson ,a us army soldier deployed in afghanistan for peacekeeping mission and after weeks of chatting he told me that he wanted to talk to me on cellphone, but there are certain rules to follow.. and he send an e mail to contact and ask permission for us to talk(at.at2.pl@consultant.com).So I did, the e mail add that he gave me replied and asking for a ts2 fee of 350 dollars for unlimited call..I already thought of a SCAM.. and so, i didnt believe and stop chatting with this person. But what I regret most is I've send him 16 photos of mine..Hope he will not use it for another scam stories.

For anyone who are dating or met a date on line, specially on a millitary service, you have to be registered in dept. of defense on line, before you even talk to one of them, also all the money that are sent to lillitary officers, are not sent directly to a person you are talking to. It has to go straight in florida for payment, then to be deposited on the person account.. All telephone, and on line conversation has to be registered on defense dept. i know this, because my fiance' who i met at on line dating service in millitary service..if the money you are sending goes direct to the person you are sending, then its a scam..person who are in a millitary service are registered at dept. of defense. So' please be careful sending money to this people unless you are really sure. Match.com is #1 scam online, be careful who you are talking to..
Godbless.

He is currently using the name David Ramos. He sent a Facebook friend request. His profile says he is a commander in the US Army in Kabul, Afghanistan. Widowed. After 2 days of his smooth talking he needed $350 to send to his adopted child in Ghana. Then the next day, he wanted to go in a business agreement but I needed a credit card. His banker told him the only way to get the money moved was from credit card to credit card. When I said no, he got mad and called me a Big Jinx. (Is that a Ghana word?) Just another point that a US Army Commander couldn't be so stupid. His English is broken but some of his notes were perfect. He knows how to copy and past. All I can say is that I hope he repents before God cause it may be his only friend. Watch for his claimed child Adam Taufik as well. He uses the yahoo address david.ramos70 @yahoo.com. I don't know how he even remembers who he really is and how he keeps up with all of the different alias. Here's another pic he uses.

RE: AARON RAMOS.......THIS PIECE OF CRAP HAS BEEN USING THE NAME OF AARON RAMOS...... Go to Youtube & you can read the story about this scammer using Aaron's name in scams. He has many more names than the ones that are listed here, but always uses the same photo's. He has over 200 different profiles on Skype..& many others at Romance scam.com He usually asks for packages to be sent first, saying that in the Army they don't get decent food ??? Asks for chocolates, biscuits any type of goodies that he can share with his colleagues. Next comes a request for a mobile phone, so he can speak to you & a laptop, as the one he is using was left there by a previous soldier, BULL SH.... Next request was for money so he could leave the army, said he had to pay for another soldier to take his place, I almost choked with laughter about this one....My Father being a Military man, I do know the rules & regulations of the forces. It is now June 2013 & he's still at it, I was hoping the mongrel would be caught by now & thrown into jail to rot for the rest of his days. His latest e-mail address is ramosmarcus69@gmail.com...He's still trying the same old pitch as the stories above, wife killed in a car crash, son at school..then the son becomes a daughter next e-mail & he hasn't even picked up on his mistake. I baited him for a month, then got sick & tired of the rubbish, so I dropped him like a hot brick...Blocked his e-mails & put him on the ignore list on messenger...HE THINKS HE IS SMART BUT HE IS STUPID AND DANGEROUS.........

STAY AWAY FROM HIM AND DON'T SEND ANYTHING....
