Hello everyone
If you found yourself on this site you probobly have been a victim of a scam or know someone.
Like you,i have been a victim of a scam. Just few month ago a had a perfect life just one thing was missing. Like many educated, single women and men out there, i thought joining Match. com would be a safe and simple enough way to meet someone nice and perhaps someone i would never meet otherwise....istnt that a TRUTH! So I met him!! My perfect match, real charmer, he was tall, dark and handsome....just like i wanted. What i didnt realize that he would scam me out of money i didnt even have and now have to pay back. Trust me ...i thought i knew better, i thought i would be able to identify someone like this real fast. I thought i would notice all the 'Red Flags' but i didnt because these people, or lets not call them people, but Scumbags are trained to do this to people like You and I.
When i first started talking to him he said his name was DAVID BRUNO from California....he was a widower and had one son. He said he is an enginere workes on oil rigs all over. This time he was headed to Poland. We talked for about 2 month....he said all the right things, told me everyhting i wanted to hear, convinced me to chat with him on yahoo.....Red Flag #1...dont fall for it. After little while something 'happened ' on his job and he needed repairs...so he started asking for a money. Of course been a giving person that i am i fell for it. .......Trust me......he was Real Good, real professional. Spoke perfect english. Gave me all the attention, showered me with complemnents, said he Loved me after about 2 weeks chatting with me on line...i thought it was little strange to say the least but i didnt stop him .....Red flag#2
He even refered me to 'Linked in' and told me the company he worked for. So i did look him up on 'linked in' and guess what i found him on there, even read about his company on line...Yes, they created a Page!!! Thats how Good these scumbags are. He said he worked for Maxim-me Corporation. I called operator to get the number for the comany and they couldnt find it ! Figures!
He gave me 2 numbers: +447024013038 and +447700078086. When i spoke with him on the phone, althought he spoke perfect english, he did have a little accent, whe i asked about it he got diffencive....Red flug#3! He always sounded soo far away. He always avoided straight forward questions. Wanted to change subject, said he only had few min on line, wanted my total attention...Red flag#4.
He used few email addresses: brunodavid83@yahoo.com
davidbruno@maxim-mecorporation
davidbruno1961@yahoo.com
Its been few weeks now since i told him NOT TO EVER CONTACT ME AGAIN.
Although,I know i would never get my money back. I had to GET back my life, i had to move on and couldnt let this EVIL totally distroy me. He took my money but he and his scumbag frinds would NEVER take away my dignity. I learned great deal from this experience and i hope you all do too. I am greatful for this website for all the helpful and educational information. I just wish i would have founded sooner. It may be a little too late for me but if my story can help one person it would all be worht while.....Please DONT EVER GIVE MONEY TO SOMEONE YOU DONT KNOW........no matter how charming they are because thats what they are TRAINED to do.....REAL PROFESSIONALS......REAL SCUMBAGS
When i found this site and truth was out i complained to Match. com and guess what they didnt do a thing about it!! I have a feeling that they dont even care! Because shortly after i got scammed and reported him to Match.com his new profile, with new pic and totally different info was back on match looking for new victims.......i was soo angry and knew that i had to do something about it.
I realize that the Man on these pictures is probobly not David Bruno....name is Fake but this is the name was chosen for him to scam me. I feel really bad for this man that this is happening to him i wish i could help hime somehow and make him aware. I wish this NEVER happened to Me or Anyone in the world. These Scumbags need to be STOPPED

Dear anonymous from United States,

You are right. This scumbags need to be stopped!. I had the same experienced as yours but lucky for me i did not send them any money but I was humiliated and embarrassed coz i was lured to doing things that im not supposed to do and lost my dignity. Its been a smooth 3 weeks relationship where he swept me off my feet and at that time you would do anything for him. But due to my handicapped and maybe being and honest person and God is still protecting me, Im reluctant to pay them and thats when I realized something is not right. He threatened me with his msgs and emails and kept calling me and I was so stressed i became suicidal and was hospitalised.

When i came back to my senses thats where i did my research and found this site and had reported this internationally on line and had checked the emails and phone number with the help of Miss Marple. I even got the true identity of the man that they had stolen from and had write to him personally and to inform him of this.

To date, I was dreading that they might call me and do something to defamed me of my dignity but I pray that this will not happen. Like you I had a perfect life, educated, careered single mother and was looking for a love that was lost years back and I thought i would never had. When I thought I found it at last, what do you think I feel? It was like I have found my true love and was hoping for a better tomorrow to a happy ending alas. But things doesnt seem like its supposed to be. Too good to be true. At that time i wouldnt want to wake up from this dream but now, it has become a nightmare and not until those scumbags are brought to justice, I will still be in it. I need all the help I could get, psychologycally and support from people that has been a victim. Thank you for this site and Miss Marple for helping me. It helps a lot. I would do anything to be able to warn others not to become a victim and in doing so I would get my normal life back emotionally.

Try to recap on the profile pictures of David Bruno and see if theres any clue, it might help. I know the truth will prevail if we have faith of finding it. Good Luck to you...

Dear anonymous from Malaysia,
Thank you soo much for your warm message and for words of encouragment and support. You seem like a very sweet person. I can relate to your struggles and hopes of finding someone special. I believe there are many nice people in the world and we will meet them someday. Unfortunately, there are many people out there who are out to get us too. But now you and i like many victims on here have the experience we need to filter out the scum . Everything in life is a Lesson...now we know! Please be strong and dont forget that your not alone. Promise me that you would not change who you are and contunue to be warm and kind person that you are. Dont let the scum alter you.....dont let them win. We have to stand up to the the scumbags because if we dont they will win.......and i am sure like myself you would never want them to win. Just like they didnt spare us any mersey....lets show them what they have comming!!
I told my scumbag that i would always be one step ahead of him and not to ever contact me again and go to 'Hell' where he belongs......if you ever get contacted or threatened again you tell him the same.......they all need to go same place........Dont give up, you will make it because you are Strong even if you dont think so right now, Smart, Intelligent, Kindhearted, Sweet Person and you are on the right track...you and i just need little time wich will heal all the pain and take away all the shame we feel right now.
Take care of yourself and remember.....Your not alone!

This man is very convincing, even sharing his passport page? It looks very real. Perhaps the scammer has stolen a real US passport.

He also has a fake company website and a fake profile on a professional networking site as well.

This picture is from LinkedIn. I do not know if the pictures have been stolen from someone or if they are of the scam artist himself.

Can someone tell me what to look for in a passport to know whether it is stolen or not. The ones posted look so real, I don't know the difference. My scammer is sending me a copy of his, and mine is old, so I don't know the difference. Please help!

RE: Scammer 2012
The passport you are asking for is fake! it has 2 things that i can see at once that you can tell it is an fake one..
1.The date of birth do not match
2.stamp on the photograph/ it might even be photo shopped the head looks too big compares to the body..

A legitimate US issued Passport is a Machine Readable Passport (MRP), it has special Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) which are the two long lines below the picture and each line is 44 characters long.
In the second row, Characters 14–19 is should match (YYMMDD)
Look at the picture and tell me what you come up with...
