I too was scammed on match.com and romanced and was getting emails and gave him my phone number so I would receive texts. His name was {David Purple} He was a sargeant in the army and was deployed over in Afganistan. He said he was a widow and had a young son about 11 years old and that the young man was in Europe staying with his mother-in-law. He said he use to own a home in Phoenix and had recently sold that home and was transferred to a base in North Carolina. I too had fallen victim to this person's scheme and asking for money and felt sorry and sent the money and I should of seen the signs and investigated throughly. But my heart got the best of me and did not think someone would do that to me. And it was untraceable because of course went through Moneygram or Western Union. And there are a string of them to pick up the money but they do have to show ID. I have reported him to the FBI. But there is nothing they can do. I also am leary about these online dating websites. But I am more cautious than ever now and will not let my heart get involved and caught up in the romance or those words that a woman longs to hear. But I am more skeptical on foreign countries and would not allow anyone to contact me nor take advantage of the situation again. A word to the wise if anyone wants to steer you away from the site and wants to yahoo instant messenger or msn instant messenger there is a red flag right there. The dating sites cannot help you and they do have you sign on line that you will not send money and you agree to this. And they do write in there in very small print do not veroff from the site. But lesson has been learned. I thought if you paid for the website that the scammers would not but again there was one on Christian Mingles and I did a web search on this person named Stephen Alexandros and he showed up as a scammer. I felt good and reported him to Christian Mingles and sent proof and I did have him IM me through the site. He was immediately taken off. So please ladies check out the person before going off the website if a man does not want to message you on site then there is a real good reason. In order for someone to message you or IM you they have to pay to use. This is my experience and have learned my lesson.
Pain staking back to normal now.

I was scammed by a man named David Becker Ozil. Says he is from Austin Texas (even a facebook page shows it). And originally from Germany with one 25 yo daughter. He is currently in Nigeria on construction business. He spent 3 weeks of my life grooming me. When he first said the 'i love you's', I immediately said not to tell me that. Too soon, and we'd never met. I told him from the very beginning, that I had no money and not to bother asking. I was in no position to support anyone but myself. He said he wanted to finish his job in Nigeria, and move to my hometown, retire, buy a house, invest in a business, and LUCKY me wanted to marry me. Yeah, I'm not even on that page. I told him from the beginning that I would catch him in any lie he told, so don't bother. Well he must have thought 'I' was lying when I said 'if you try to screw me - the price you will pay is high'. Well he finally tried. And this is his payment for that. Told me that he'd ordered goods for his job from China, and couldn't pay the entire 'duty'. He never really asked for any specific amount, but I did not ask either. I told him he was not getting a dime from me. He got an email of 'how dare you' 'you should be ashamed of yourself' 'god won't like this'. I didn't hear a thing for 2 weeks, until he yahoo msg'd me and went on for an hour about how 'if i loved him' 'this isn't how people who love each other-treat one another' 'i will pay you back when i get paid' 'i'm hungry', on and on. I did not give in, and told him he had the wrong person. I can't believe the nerve of some people. He told me 'stop telling me you don't have any money-you just don't want to give me any'. Well that is the one thing he got right. KARMA is the best revenge. I do believe in online relationships, as I have seen them work out well, it's just a matter of who you meet, and how much you let your guard down. Good luck to those who have been taken in. Some people are just stupid.

wondering anyone run into similar situation as above with Gabriel Christos, supposedly from Chicago and now he's stuck in Beijing China.

LOL he just started emailing me on a BBW site. I pretty much figured he was fake right off the bat. He accidentally sent me what looks like his initial first contact spiel 2 times, before and after we had a few messages going. It looks like he copies and pastes it word for word .

I hope our friendship will lead into something great. I am not looking for a woman to jump into bed with but a woman that i will spend the rest of my life with. As a matter of fact,i am actually in search of that special woman i can trust and spend the rest of my life I will love to chat with you but right now i live all alone with my dog i don't have any kids, am an artist am into sculptor act and I live in chicago, heaven knows I need a hug and I know there is someone out there that God has meant to bless me with her love and life as I will give in return my life and love.I am a fun loving, God fearing, descent, with a good moral attitude and a caring heart; I am a very happy person and am always friendly with everyone around me,i take good care of other people children as my own, I love Arts, Dining, Family, Movies, Listening to Music, Outdoor Activities, Photography, Reading, Travel, Cooking, Health/Fitness and most of all I love fashion dearly. In my
words, I am independent, impulsive, adventurous, opinionated, loyal, spontaneous, goofy, funny, sentimental, compassionate, warm-hearted, straight forward, open-minded, strong-willed, dreamer, and thinker.
I enjoy cooking and believed it is the best way to bring people together and share the love..I send you some photos and I hope to see your reply.gabriel

He just mentioned talking to clients in China the other day. Looks like he's working his way to China to get 'stuck' over there.
He also starts calling you 'dear' alot, right away. Plays on your sympathy by sending pic of him and deceased wife.
He also emailed me a scan of his passport for some reason...no clue why but I think I will chit chat a bit longer and see how he leads into begging for money.

Not that I want to accuse anyone unnecessarily but the pictures of 'David Amadeus' early on in this thread look very much like a guy on Match.com going by the username of 'le_numero5. He also claims to be 51 and from San Rafael, CA just like Scott Coppens aka Scott Bloch, etc. may be only a coincidence.

I'm very familiar with Mr Gabriel Christos. He will have a golden opportunity of going to China to work on a new Hotel doing all the artwork for them. He leaves. His dog Hector dies. He has to have an appendectomy. He then gets in trouble with customs over ivory he has sent in from Kenya. He doesn't have the appropriate paper work. He meets a man in Malysia that can help but it will cost him $8500. He will need it urgently. He will give you an account number, name, bank info, everything, his passport information, everything, if you will just please help him. He has an uncle in Italy but they don't talk. His parents are dead. He's traveling with no credit cards, right? I spoke with him for more than 7 months. I have a file of numerous pictures, emails, whatever you might need to convince you he is a scammer. I sent an email to the State Department and to the Maylasia Consulate with the story and the above attached passport and the account information. I received and email back immediately telling me the passport was fake and not to send money. I didn't of course. I just to hate to think about the ones who will. The picture below is supposedly, Gabe in China.
