What is a VOE?

Question:

I am buying a home and my loan is about to be funded. I just received an email from the title company that the lender requires a VOE before funding. What does that mean?

Answer:

VOE = Verification of Employment. It usually means that the lender will call at your workplace and talk to human resources or your manager and get confirmation that you indeed (still) work there.
