Tamara is very good at what she does, and very convincing,we communicated for 3 months, which I paid for. I unfortunately paid for her passport and travel to Canada, then I lost contact with her. In all , she cost me $5000 dollars. Hopefully my experience will save someone else from doing the same thing.

ditto...I'm very sorry you got scammed too. It's easy to be wise after the fact, and 'good at what she does' she (or probably he) may be, but:

Visiting Canada:

Canada welcomes you as a tourist, student or temporary worker. Every year, more than 35 million people visit Canada to enjoy the many opportunities our country has to offer.

Depending on where you live, and the reason for your visit, you will need to meet certain entry requirements. In some cases, if you plan to stay in Canada for a certain period of time, you will need a Temporary Resident Visa.

Visiting Canada: Who can apply

If you plan to visit Canada, you must:

- have a valid travel document, such as a passport
- be in good health
- convince an immigration officer that you have ties, such as a job, home and family, that will take you back to your country of origin
- convince an immigration officer that you will leave Canada at the end of your visit and
have enough money for your stay. The amount of money you will need can vary with the circumstances of the visit, how long you will stay and whether you will stay in a hotel or with friends or relatives. For more information, ask the Canadian visa office in your country or region.

You may also need:

a Temporary Resident Visa, depending on your citizenship
a medical examination and
a letter of invitation from someone who lives in Canada.

(please note the latter)

CANADA

TOURIST/business - non U.S. citizens
1 Original, signed passport valid for 6 months beyond stay, and with at least one blank visa page available for visa stamp(s).
2 One visa application form completed and signed.
3 Two passport-type photographs.
4 Copy of itinerary or air tickets showing round trip and copy of confirmed hotel reservations.
5 Copy of most recent bank statement, showing sufficient funds for support for the visit.
6 Original I-94 Card.
7 For Tourist: Copy of hotel confirmation. state nature of business, local contact, and length of intended stay. visa).
8 For Business: 1. Business Cover Letter.
2. Invitation from a company from Canada.

9 Fees - Consular Fees Single entry - each person $75
Multiple entry - each person $150

Ergo, it's virtually impossible for a single Russian girl with no ties in Russia (and no money either if she's scamming it from you) to get a tourist visa, otherwise known as a Temporary Resident Visa, to Canada.....(unless she is sponsored by you).
Took me 10 minutes to find this info on the Internet (had to go to the Canadian Embassy in Poland website, because the one in Moscow is being updated).

Such a pity you didn't do your homework.

Eddie,

Could you post the link you visited?

I have been requesting any Candian (answer now comes from an ex-pat) to find the most current such link, so I can direct future newbie Canadians to start with that as their homework

PS My volume of links was basically my anger reaction at the scammer. 5000 after-tax dollars is a lot of money for any innocent individual.

I really hope would-be victims never under-estimate the value of homework.

Canada,

http://www.delphifa..=11#39440

You could also post steps for lodging a complaint with RCMP

Headers minus your personal info [If you need help listing headers, let us know]
Scammer's profile and site where you met
Money letter(s) minus your personal info
Other pix with you that don't show-up on delphi pic search
Links to any pix with you that show-up from delphi

Like you say, let's hope would-be victims learn and avoid same mistakes by providing info for them.

Wish you a successful future!

Eddie,
I understand your efforts, but I was after something else.

1) Someone with an American flag seeks info on Canadian visa - why?
2) He's asking someone with a Swedish flag for it

When a newbie Canadian notices this, He's going to jump in and say ''Hey, this is supposed to be MY, a newbie CANADIAN homework - Here it is with any updates, since I've ready access to far more resources like Toronto Star, CBC, etc.''

You have already shown how it's done, and it's newbie's turn to demand his presence.
