Don't be a twat all your life. Most of us have a life, we're here to prevent others from losing their hard-earned bucks to some sleazy scammer in Yoshkar Ola, Mari El Republic. Of course, you're much to clever to ever get scammed, so take a hike.

that's pretty much it. Scammers are only interested in the contents of your wallet, but there are slight technical variations. ...a few mails and they'll hit you with some sort of money letter.

Some will ask for visa money, about '400 dollars', even though a visa costs much less than that, but presumably because it's a manageable amount. Trouble is, a girl can't actually get a visa either to North America or most of Europe without either buying a tour and hotel rooms first and having a job and spending money, or getting sponsored. Guys who don't do their homework will send the 'visa' money, but it's not too much of a loss. If the scammer gets the initial payment, they will usually come back for more. A few disappear at the visa stage.

Others will ask for 1500 bucks for visa and tickets, which is actually a much more realistic amount, except as I mentioned, virtually no single Russian girls can get a visa without being sponsored, with all the associated hassles and paperwork, especially if they haven't got a job.

Some say they already have a US work visa, but 'need some help with the fare'. Others are on the way to the airport when they have a crash, or their mother gets sick and needs an operation. And a few translations scams, mostly in Ukraine....girls sends 5 or 6 letters with increasingly revealing pics, then a letter arrives from a fake translation agency asking for money. There are quite a lot of variations.

There are even a few professional gold-diggers, who will invite you to Russia/Ukraine and milk you for all you're worth, but you can find girls like that in any American city as well.

A real Russian girl, of which there are surprisingly many, will let you phone her for a chat, or chat on messenger with a webcam. They will go out of their way to accomodate you if they're interested. They would never ask for money directly, although they appreciate flowers and gifts, of course. You should be able to convince them that you can support them in your country. And that's what the majority of scammers have in common...they ask for money directly, and the guys rarely have a clue if they exist or not because they've only had email contact and a few photos...occasionally a few telephone calls, or mails froma fake travel agency. It's amazing that they can get away with it, but they do.

There are a couple of guys on this site who bait the scammers, pretend to send money and get them running to the bank...generally waste their time. Dirk from Holland is becoming quite a master baiter. He knows how to jerk them around.

BTW...scammers rarely bother to read your mails until after the money letter, just to see if you've taken the bait. In other words, you can write virtually anything back to most of them, and you'll see get an automatic form back to them. However, if you write in Russian (using a decent internet translator), they will sometimes reply in Russian, in their 'real' personas. Here's the first of 4 letters I got from a Yoshkra Ola scammer last year...(translated to English):

Från: 'Anna' <annalove30@rambler.ru>
Ämne: Re: Прочитайте это письмо
Datum: 05 July 2006 17:40

Greetings 'Anna'! Please do not insult my intelligence.

Scammer: agreed!

1. You do not read my letters. You ignore my questions. I write to you in Russian, but you do not see, because you do not read my letters.

Scammer: Yes I see that you write in Russian, but I correspond with many such as you. I cannot write to everyone individually.

2. You send me the copied letters.

Scammer: Certainly. Then you are better than others?

3. You write to me using server by proxy from the USA....Typical dodge for the Internet-scammer. If you are frank, why do you hide your site?

Scammer: I use a SOCKS-server. Usually I use GPRS Internet and you all cannot equally learn where I am. You can see only IP of the operator of cellular communication.

4. Your photos are very beautiful, but you are not an actual girl. Probably, you are man called Boris.

Scammer: You are right, but not Boris certainly.

5. You are a professional criminal who deceives money from lonely men who only search for the partner. Why you do it? You are too foolish to work? Or too lazy?

Scammer: Here only it is not necessary to speak about nonsense. You are a fool if you want to find a wife in the Internet. It is not real. The average salary in my city is 150 dollars in a month. The choice is simple - either poverty or larceny. Now I earn 5000 dollars. Our validity does not leave a choice. You can though choke in beautiful words about honesty and nobleness but when would it be desirable TO GUZZLE morals? It leaves only the second plan. I very much doubt, that you are capable to understand it.

6. The scammer should be cleverer than its victim. But you are too stupid to be successful. If I could find you, I would kick your end face. *(didn’t know the Russian word for ass, but I do now)

Do not reproach me in your dullness. I correspond with a whole division of sexually perverted muzhiks and everyone is a fool. And I am quite successful in the business. Be pleased, that we shall not meet, differently I would will thrust your leg into your задницу or end face, as you call it :)

Try to behave nobly and to not deceive money.

Necessarily, sometime. Can be in a following life.

Thank you for you reply...
But what will happen if you just say NO or keep writing to those women like nothing happen? Will they continue to persuade you with more pictures and more stories?

A real girl (= real intentions) early on showed interest in my language, although quite fluent. She was very apperciative of these links I sent. She said it was typical of her friends to show interest the language of her potential partner. [Scammers of course are only intersted in scamlish ... but won't be disappointed if they are scamming Pierre!]

As I mentioned, if you sy NO before the money letter, they will keep writing to you because many of them use automatic spam programs, e.g. the BAT!...or they can't understand English anyway. (if they could, they'd be a able to get a decent job because English is a status language in the countries of the former Soviet Union).

If you said NO after the money letter, I very much doubt that they would keep writing. what would be the point? 80-90% of dating scammers are guys anyway. And their form mails only go as far as the 'thank you lubimaja for sending me the momey' stage. They would move on to greener pastures.

You're welcome to see what happens.

I almost fell for this persons scam, I googled the real person up online and sound out that shie is a IT Consultant, and this is not her, this is a scam and I was an ass to fall for it. All the signs where clear that this was a scam and I let my emotions almost make a foul out of me.

She sent me a nude picture which has been obviously photoshopped. Her face has been added into a nude picture of another girl. I won't post the photo since its nude but here is another picture she sent me. She calls herself Anastasiya from Turukhansk, Russia which is a very small town deep in the north of Siberia I believe.

lmao here's the naked photo that is mentioned in the above email, i was a lucky one that got the nudie photo ;)

ha ha ha

how do some people get suckered in by these people

best thing to do is to go along with it to the point where they are sat waiting for your money transfer, then email them and make excuses why the transfer hasn't gone through.

drag it out for them and get some amusement out of it :D

Thanks Gents. I too have recently been contacted by Anastasiya from Turukhansk.

I became suspicious when she wouldn't answer the questions that I asked, so here I am.

I too received the nudie photo and the family.

She hasn't asked for money yet, so now I know I have time to play some games with this scammer.

Thanks again.

Yes, I have gotten pictures from Annastasia also. The latest is her on a plane. It is interesting how this is going. It is good for a laugh, and I want to see how far she takes it before she asks for money. I emailed her with some russian, and she didn't respond, I think becaus she doesn't know russian and didn't understand. It is kind of fun seeing how far she will go.
