Some Googling tips

In this scenario, an e-mail arrives from a drop-dead model in Yoshkar-ola

1) Query google for the 2 words Yoshkar-Ola newspapers

The output looks like

2) This lists only 10 hits per page, so click on Advanced Search to the right of query box

3) Search for all the words, (the same two) with 100 entries per page

The output looks like

4) With so many hits, available, on the Internet Explorer Menu Bar, Click Edit, Find on this page, scam and click on these hits and you'll see URLs like

etc. will get you started

4A) Aliter

In this method, use google's search within the results option, for the word scam, again expand to 100 results per page using the Advanced search.

@newbie who asked me for info in your e-mail

1) UK is part-Schengen (Only where it's advantangeous to them, e.g. extradition)

2) Travel between UK and a Schengen-friendly country, e.g Sweden requires some form of identification

3) Travel within Schengen-friendly countries requires NO identificatin

4) Switzerland is NOT Schengen-friendly, anymore than UK

@Eddie, correct me if I'm wrong, and that guy will start his homework with this (possibly dated) link

RE: Virus

There was some interest from the other side of the Atlantic (forgot the thread) on sending virus to scammers.

If you see Dom (from UK) coming in, ask him, he seems an expert on this subject (which interrupt it can hook on to, etc). He may have an active solution.

I'll be thinking of a passive solution, where user investment is minimal. Don't yet throw away your old PC, till I follow-up on this topic (next weekend at the latest, sooner if possible)

Hey I've a 3 Hour drive ahead of me on Motorway, may find problems from bonnet to boot, need something else to think about during all that time.

Thanks guys, for giving me something to think about.

OJAS...good link, that's exactly right.

but 'Travel within Schengen-friendly countries requires NO identificatin' is only a theoretical pipe dream. In reality you need a passport or an ID card to enter and leave Sweden. For example, there are passport controls at Arlanda airport, which you won't get through without one, even to other Schengen countries (but crossing the Dutch-German border is now a piece of cake).

Thanks Eddie,

I appreciate your updating me; My warning was basically, the (likely dated) link was a only starting point, and newbies are supposed to pick-up the homework therefrom.

Another possibly outdated experience of my own - Flew to Brussels; Took trains freely to other countries Holland, Luxumburg - NEVER once was anyone asked for any identification while crossing borders in any direction.

In a post 9/11 world these countries might have retaliatory border controls against US visitors - I'll keep my ears open as I hear of any developing restrictions for Americans

Since this Vika last contacted me, I have researched and discovered that this scammer has contacted scores of men worldwide, maybe in the hundreds and is still actively targeting guys seeking female relationships. I have sent warnings to those profiling on and other dating websites plus posted ads on sites as Pupsik1 mentioning that this is a scammer.

It is an operation, involving a set number of standard email letters or messenger communications becoming more coaxing each time building up to a final sting.

Far sophistication from the usual African scam letters, but still with obvious flaws.

It could not be possible for one person to contact so many on such a grand scale with letters at various stages unless they are very well organised.

Therefore, this must be an international outfit of scammers run from the USA, Europe, Israel, Russia and some south East Asian countries. I also believe that some dating websites, is actually created and run by scammers.

I have seen no evidence that Interpol, other police forces or any organisations are putting much resources into bringing to justice these evil criminals that prey on the vulnerable.

The scammers know that there are plenty of idiots out there willing to send stacks of cash and travel the four corners of the earth at the thought of getting some long term hot totty, the bait being only a picture and a few kind words. If these vulnerables suddenly wised up, the scammers would soon go out of business.

There may be a world where beautiful sincere girls fall madly in love with guys of any age in only a couple of weeks just by reading a few words on their profiles published on some crap dating website, but sadly not on planet Earth.

Best defence against scammers in the first place is: DON’T PLAY THEIR GAME.

good post, but you have some incorrect information.

It's true that there are dating scams and scammers in many different countries, the Phillipines, Nigeria etc. and that individual scammers can pop up almost anywhere.

But the vast majority of PROFESSIONAL dating scammers in the northern hemisphere are RUSSIAN, and your scammers are working out of Yoshkar Ola and the republics around it, Mari El and Chuvashia, where they work in small gangs and dating scamming is almost a cottage's a few hundred miles east of Moscow. A large proportion of the scams that use form mails trace back to this area, or they use proxy servers to hide their location. There are also professional scammers in the Ukraine. I've been baiting scammers long enough to know what I'm talking about.

In fact, here is a mail I received from a scammer (the first of four). I had written to him in Russian challenging him, and he replied to me in Russian. This is the result:

Från: 'Anna' <>
Ämne: Re: Прочитайте это письмо
Datum: 05 July 2006 17:40

Hello 'Anna'! Please do not insult my intelligence.

Scammer: agreed!

Me: You don't read my letters. You ignore my questions. I write to you in Russian, but you don't see, because you do not read my letters.

Scammer: Yes I see that you write in Russian, but I correspond with many such as you. I cannot write to everyone individually.

Me: You send me copied letters.

Scammer: Certainly. Then you are better than others?

Me: You write to me using server by proxy from the USA....Typical dodge for the Internet-scammer. If you are honest, why do you hide your site?

Scammer: I use a SOCKS-server. Usually I use GPRS Internet and you all cannot equally learn where I am. You can see only IP of the operator of cellular communication.

Me: Your photos are very beautiful, but you are not a real girl. Probably, you are man called Boris.

Scammer: You are right, but not Boris certainly.

Me: You are a professional criminal who deceives money from lonely men who only search for the partner. Why do you do it? You are too foolish to work? Or too lazy?

Scammer: Here only it is not necessary to speak nonsense. You are a fool if you want to find a wife in the Internet. It is not real. The average salary in my city is 150 dollars in a month. The choice is simple - either poverty or larceny. Now I earn 5000 dollars. Our validity does not leave a choice. You can choke in beautiful words about honesty and nobleness but when would it be desirable TO GUZZLE morals? It leaves only the second plan. I very much doubt, that you are capable to understand it.

Me: The scammer should be cleverer than its victim. But you are too stupid to be successful. If I could find you, I would kick your end face. *(didn’t know the Russian word for ass, but I do now)

Scammer: Do not reproach me in your dullness. I correspond with a whole division of sexually perverted muzhiks and everyone is a fool. And I am quite successful in the business. Be pleased, that we shall not meet, differently I would will thrust your leg into your задницу or end face, as you call it :)

Me: Try to behave nobly and to not deceive money.

Scammer: Necessarily, sometime. Could be in my next life.

2ND MAIL (two days later)

Hahaha... Your letter has entertained me. At last, an “honest”criminal? But, you are a little bit pathetic too. Like all criminals, you have many justifications.... Not sufficient money or opportunities.... an unsuccessful life... bad destiny... bla bla bla. If your situation is so difficult, why you do not change it? Instead, you live in your dark cave (possibly, Yoshkar Ola?), and you abuse your life. You have no respect for yourself. Besides, you don't think of the misfortune that you cause to your victims. In other words, you are egocentric.

Scammer: In you I see the expert скамерства! You even know about our capita (Ioshkar Ola). How many times have you sent money? Two or three times. Certainly you will tell that you are very clever and never sent money. I saw such as you many times. The expert скамерства you, three times опущеный ЛОХ.

Me: I have arrived to this country, Sweden, 16 years ago without money. Now I have plenty of money. How is it possible? Scamming? Stealing? No!... Because I work very hard, and I have talents and mind. I win, and you lose.

Scammer: Try coming to Russia and start a business.

Me: As to finding a wife, you speak nonsense. My acquaintance has succeeded in finding a beautiful Russian partner. Besides, I shall travel to Russia in August, to meet a beautiful, sincere, (real) girl. I know that you will feel happy for me.

Scammer: Well, if you have found a girlfriend in Russia I can congratulate you. But with your troublemaking character you have no future. For God's sake do not speak about outstanding intelligence. It is ridiculous!

Me: Finally, I will give you some advice. It is very easy to see that you are a scammer (except for silly men). Your photos are too old. The quality is not good. Besides your 'girl' looks like a porno star.

Scammer: I am engaged in this business for 7 years and I do not require advice. The photos should look so bad. Whence could a poor Russian girl get money for the digital camera? Good photos cause many questions and superfluous doubts. So there. The photos should be blurred. It acts on 100 % beautiful photos these are 95 percent of success.

Me: Find some work. 150 dollars earned fairly should be preferable than 5000 earned with a deceit.

Scammer: And you have tried to live for 150 dollars a month? You некчёмный дрочила,
You will teach me how to live? People who search for a woman on the Internet are morally ugly creatures.

All right, you have tired me. It is necessary to work! I owe to each of the patients to present чуточку to love and надеж.
