To any newcomers on this thread. ...PLEASE READ THIS!!!
The vast majority of Russian dating scammers are not women at all, but actually men, mostly students, working in organized cells - known as 'offices' in Russian scamming jargon - in or around Yoshkar Ola, the capital of Mari El republic, sometimes in Chuvashia....occasionally further afield.
Most scammers are VERY lazy and only looking for quick cash money. They use email extractor programs to get your mail addresses (if you don't have a profile on a dating site, that is)...for example:
..and multiple identities with copied form mails and spam programs on automatic reply, very often the BAT!, with which they can personalize small parts of each letter if necessary.
They mostly won't read your mails until after the pay-off - known as the 'money letter'- because they don't have time, ie because they're mailing, and trying to scam, as many guys as they can (economies of scale).....and also because they're semi-literate lowlifes who can't speak much English anyway. They call this initial phase 'zakidka' -- which means 'fill 'em up' in Russian slang. IN OTHER WORDS, you can write almost anything in your replies and they won't notice, the scammers only get interested when they're curious to see if you've taken the bait.
It's virtually guaranteed that the girls in these scam pics aren't directly involved in the scamming because the scammers steal their pics from the internet or pay unsuspecting friends for them, or buy and exchange them on scammer websites. Mostly they steal them. (Once an experienced Russian scammer actually admitted to me that he stole all his pics from army-of-brides.com and mamba.ru). Occasionally they'll use a local girl for a pic set, usually a scammer groupie. Real female accomplices are otherwise only involved either to phone a guy up, for the sake of appearances, or to pick up the loot at Western Union.
And more recently, the majority of Russian scammers have started using proxy servers or IP spoofing to hide their real locations so ALL YOU REALLY NEED TO DO IS TRACE THEIR IP ADDRESS to confirm the scam! (if you haven't worked it out already, of course). Untraceable IP address = scam.
Well it seems i am not the only one getting emails from this person. The funny thing is im a female. i have sent her emails explaining i know this is a scam and she just keeps emailing that she is coming here to be with me. She left yesterday from her home town and is in moscow today on her way here. She says she got my information off of a web site for dating. I am a married female with 2 children and am pregnant with another. Any way she has sent me the same pics and several emails. she is also using firstname.lastname@example.org the name she is using is Elena Korobitsyna. She says she will be here in a few days and is supposed to stay with some other girls but would like to come live with me.

Subject: Many kisses only to you from Moscow!!!
Hello!!! I'm so excited to write you again!!!!!!!!!! I'm in Moscow! You can't
imagine how happy I am because I already started my trip to you!
I still cannot believe I've done it! WoW! As I wrote you I was scared
to fly on the plane but everything was OK and I'm still alive ))))
Moscow is a really big city! I've been told the population of Moscow
is about 10 million of people! From the Airport I went by bus... it
was so long way... about 1 hour and 30 minutes. I've seen so many nice
places in Moscow while going by bus!
When I got off the plane in the Moscow Airport policeman asked me about
passport and he looked at me like I am an enemy )))
I think all people here are a little crazy because of terrorism.
Everything here is very expensive, not like in my city... and
everywhere are big crowds of people! Everywhere is so many people! I feel
uncomfortable because of it but I hope I will be OK soon.
I found a place to stay, I rent a room from an old woman. She is about
70 years old. She said her husband died 2 years ago and she
doesn`t have money to live, so she give in rent rooms in her apartment.
She is very nice woman. She said I have to be very careful.
You know... she said many girls from small
cities come to big cities, they are looking for a
better future and fortune but because they are from small cities they
can`t imagine that their way to find the happiness can be not so easy as they
thought... and some of them can end up as prostitutes or something
like that. She said I should be careful when I will meet you!! But I don't
worry about you! I feel with all my heart you are really nice man!
Sorry I wrote you about my worries.. I have nobody to write about it.
My mother is worried enough about me and I don't want
to make her to worry more. I think that's really good I've met you! I
can write you about everything.
By, the way, one thing else about my trip. Agency will help me to rent a room
to stay near my future work in your area. I will share this room with a few girls yet,
it is usual procedure and it helps to pay the rent (it will be cheaper). And I have a question,
is it normal if we will like each other may be it is possible to live together?of course if you
or somebody doesn't mind. Do you have a big wide bed?(joke). Anyway, it is ok for me to
rent a room, don`t worry!!!
As you know I will stay there for three months but If I will like there I will be
able to prolong my trip. I will arrive by Work visa, so I won`t have
any problems with law while I will be working.
I think I will be able to improve my english and you can learn Russian and I think
it will help us to learn each other better, who knows.
I miss my family... but I'm getting better with every hour ))
Now I'm very hungry and I will go and eat something.
I`m sending for you some photos of moscow that I found in internet.
. I hope everything will be fine.
please write me as soon as possible!See you soon! Great kiss from moscow!!

These pictures were also reported as the following identity:
this person is trying to scam me right now - he/she has got to the 'I have arrived in Moscow' stage, which means that he/she has not yet asked for an money.
certainly the photos are cute, but reading your site makes it pretty clear what he/she is doing.
I reckon the best thing I can do is string him/her along a while, and have a little fun.
but then, if these people don't read the messages we send?
anyway, the name given to me was syuzanna, and address was firstname.lastname@example.org.
I hope that more and more people discover sites like this - it would save a lot of cash.
email@example.com from Garlasco, Italy
I just this minute got another mail from Moscow' (the one where he/she/it talks about going around the museums) but still no request for money
by the way, the name I am getting is Syuzanna Imamoutdinova
pity it's a scam, though!!!! This image was also posted here: Dating scammer anastasia yukhina
it's interesting, OK - but if these scammers are lifting models' photos, how do they get so may of the same girl?
I think this must be a real girl scammer (because there is no doubt that she is one), using family pics.
Peter from Germany
For sure I don't really know but this woman does not look like a scammer. They got blogs, chat- and dating sites, own homepages and all this stuff in Russia nowadays and girls especially if they are pretty like to have pics of themselves (and to show them).
