Hello dear!

You have interested me, and I want write to you. I want to tell you
some facts about me! My name is Yuliya. I am 26, I am 165, 49 kg. I
live in town Saint Petersburg in Russia. I have only my mom, my dad
died 4 years ago. I am the only child unfortunately! I rent an
apartment not far from my work. I work as a teacher of dances, usually
I work from 3pm till 9 pm. I like my work and it is a good money if
work hard :):):) I am proud that I am able to rent an apartment! 5
months ago I bought my computer and began discovering internet! It is
captivating!!! It may seem that I have everything to live happily but
it is not so! I have problems with finding a boyfriend and love of all
my life :):):) Some men want to date with me but I don't like them,
the men I would like to date with are already married or have serious
relationship with other women! That is terrible! I speak good English
and that is why I decided to search all over the English speaking
world :):):) I do believe that it is possible to meet my special one
on internet! Many women met their soulmates abroad and they are very
happy with them. Why not?!?! Well, what else to tell you about me?! I
have a couple of best friends and I spend my free time with them.
Usually we go to the cinema or to disco. I like to dance very much!!!
It is wonderful when work is hobby and passion! I visit my mom several
times a week, I help her about the house and we just talk! My mother
have good work as bookkeeper. We can pay for all life expenses. And I
will not ask you help me with money. I know many stories about it. If
you will write to me more, you will understand, that I am not such
girl! My girlfriend find her husband on internet in last year. She
move to Australia and they have happy family. She write to me letter
every week. Also I teach dances in orphan house for free. I like kids
and I feel that I help them a lot, they don't have parents and I am
sure that I make their life better! When I offered to teach dances, I
was said that my wage would be very small. I said that I would do it
without any salary. I have another good work and I just want to make
this world less cruel for those kids. 3 times a week I go there. Oh,
the most important thing I would like to tell you. I need serious
relationship, I don't want to have a penpal. I have much love to give
and I need somebody loves me also. I don't want to ask you many
questions, just write me about yourself as I did. And of course feel
free to ask questions!

You can write to me on my e-mail:

Have a nice day!
Sincerely Yuliya.

I have heard from this girl too. Same exact story. What I don't understand though is if her friends sends you the money and you then send it; how is scamming you?

Might sound naive but I have no idea how this stuff works.

OZ mate - She will send a counterfeit draught / cheque for you to deposit and ask for real money in return. You get into trouble while she will enjoy your money. I use she as a reference, although most scammers are actually men

Thanks mate. She is saying her friend is going to send the money to my account and then I go to Wester Union. Does this sound Dodgy? Have you heard anything about this particular one in the past?

Thanks mate

Be very careful new type of scamm they put money into your account then you take it out send it to them via Western Union then their bank recalls the money , International law your bank must return it , then you owe your bank the money , he / she got you , get it Mate . Pierre

Baggy Green mate, The problem is the wire transfer traceability such as Western Union. If YOU go abroad first, you return. If your money goes first, it doesn't!

When you deposit a forged amount into your bank, you are liable! DO NOT GIVE AWAY YOUR BANK ACCOUNT NUMBER OR ANY OTHER PERSONAL INFORMATION TO CRIMINALS!

so if she does deposit this forged money will the bank accepts and show it in our bank account details? if it it real?? or will it later down the track bounce or something, then disappear or will it stay if we dont touch the money at all. please reply, very curious....

I can't answer your question because I have only just come across this particular dating scam variant..

but the point is you shouldn't even be thinking of sending 'her' any money, or however this new variant scam works with false draughts etc.

The normal way to meet a respectable Russian girl romantically is to take a trip to Russia, not the other way round. Russian TV is full of documentaries about Russian girls who've emigrated and been abandoned, murdered etc. If they tell you that they've got a working visa and need some money for a ticket, this is bollox as well because they would never be granted a working visa, even if they had found a job in advance, unless they have a healthy bank account and/or they're sponsored by their employers (involves a lot of documents). The whole procedure is very complicated.

I know about meeting Russian girls and sponsoring them from personal experience because I've been to Russia twice in 18 months to meet girls and I've sponsored two to visit me in Sweden. One is now my fiancée -- she was granted her permanent residency a week before Xmas and will be moving here in the spring with her son. Of course, I went to meet her in her home city first!

BTW...I also know that Western Union shows a worrying lack of corporate responsibility since they have a fraud disclaimer on their website (which I've posted before on delphifaq)

You can't be 100% certain of avoiding scammers completely, no matter what website you try (applies to the whole world).

The best one for meeting real Russian/Ukrainian girls is They screen the girls for scammers, but even so, some scammers may slip through and sometimes you can get professional gold-diggers as well. Don't be paranoid, but be careful.

I met my Russian fiancée on Quite a lot of scammers there actually, but also quite a lot of real girls. Follow my tips in the:

...just below this post, and you should be able to recognise them soon enough. I met 5 or 6 real Russian girls at city of brides. I also met some at

most important tips:
* you should be able to phone them easily enough
* you should visit them in Russia first
* don't send money unless you're 100% it's a real girl, or you don't care about losing it.
* learn to trace an IP address (100% reliable scammer giveaway)

Good luck!
