This one really broke my heart. She contacted me on TRUE.com., with a very complete and legitimate profile. She claimed that she was in Los Angeles. After excahnging private e-mail addreses, she admitted to me that she was an artist in Chicago, hoping to return to LA.

We would e-mail and Yahoo Messege each other.
But she never had a 'working' phone number, and no web cam. The picture I have supplied is the only one she ever sent me.

From the start she was excited about an upcoming exhibit of her artwork in London. Once she arrived there...then she gave me a phone number. She explained her heavy accent (!!) to her strong Chicago-area Greek culture and neighborhood.

After a week in London, the big request finally came...the Exhibitors needed additional registration fees,,,she cried and begged and pleaded (naturally I was her only hope). Beecause of our 6 weeks of constant communication and the feeling that I did love her, I agreed to send her 300 pounds (Over $500 dollars!)

She was so thrilled and excited. Within days she landed a big 'contract', and they wanted her stay in London..without upfronitng any money. So, here it came again...this time for 1,000 pounds!

i responded by not responding. She tried to reach me for a day or two, then gave up. I have just now heard from her again after 3 weeks...promising to pay me my money back (but she is stuck in England and lost the contract because I wasn't there for her).

Just wondering...has anyone else heard from her? Her TUE tag was 'Huggy Bear.'

Hi folks,

thanks a lot for posting this info! Through a dating site in Germany, I received mail from 'Christel Woodard' as well. Same scheme, although she did not ask for money yet. Originating from Chicago.. on a business trip in England.. forgot to roam her handy (whatever that is) so she cannot be reached.. but she can call me from a payphone... I should sent my telephone number... talking about sex 'doggy style' although we barely exchanged two mails..

Your report saved me a lot of hassle!!

Keep up the good work!

wrong move, you should never link a scammer to here.
you are helping them to avoid the pitfalls reported on here leading to discover their scam and are educating them to do better next time.

tell a scammer you found out he is scamming, you do not need to justify or explain how and where you found out.

just tell him to fuck off
but be aware even then, within a couple of days he will come back to you under different name, different email, different pics.

stay on here, read the various threads, learn how to spot a scammer immediately and once you have learned the basics, play with him wasting his time or just ignore him

But never link on here
