FREIGHTQUOTE.COM credit card fraud - FREIGHT FORWARDER
I want everyone to know about FREIGHTQUOTE.COM . we used their services last month and after they quoted us $320.00 for a truck shipment from seattle to Ney york city.
about a week after the shipment was delivered(8 days late) our credit card was charged an additional $980.00 when we enquired about the new charges with FREIGHTQUOTE.COM they told us it is an agency fee.
It is their standard procedure to charge any agency fee they deem proper.
although we are fighting it with our credit card company and will win, everyone should be warned about FREIGHTQUOTE.COM credit card fraud operation.

Do not do business with “freightquote.com”. They commit fraud as a regular practice, then hide behind their “terms and conditions.” For example, I got a quote of $250 to ship an item, paid that amount, item was shipped and delivered, then 2 weeks later my credit card was charged an additional $300. This is happening to people all over the country. They will tell you that something was wrong on your original quote and charge you an arbitrary additional amount with no recourse, after the shipment is completed.

FreightQuote Charged me $600 to deliver a machine they never gave the shipping company the paperwork and the truck driver called me from 60 miles away from where he was supposed to pick it up 3 days previous. About 3 days after that they delivered to a location 2 hours from it's destination and left it. They refused to ship it to me and I had to make my own arrangements. After 3 weeks went by they are tryint to charge me an additional $600 because they claim it cost them more than they quoted.

I had a shipment that never got picked up with freightquote.com. So I shopped around on the internet and found www.TransLogistics.biz. They are a small freight logistics company in San Diego, CA. The owner is always there if you ever have an issue. I was very pleased with their service and price. Call them at 858-794-1800. Very freindly people and honest.

Freightquote is a scam - We ship with a number of carriers all over the US. We received a sales call from a rep @ Freightquote - stating they could save of money. We had them quote us to ship 8/pallets from MO to Tx. - the quote was $972.80. We gave the OK, the material arrived 4days later. Thought everything was OK, until two weeks later our Accounts Payable received another bill for $1080.40 - total $2053!!!! Can't beleive these people are getting away with this...

I know people who work in the claims department there. Two causes are:
1. Customer goes online and puts in the wrong info for their freight (ie weight, class, etc)
2. Customer gives rep wrong info (ie weight, class, etc)
I assume some people do this on purpose for a reason.....to get cheaper rates, or because they simply do not know better. More often than not they will get away with it because the carriers will not inspect and notice. Every carrier has inspectors, usually a couple per dock so typically you get away with it, but if they do happen to inspect your freight and find some wrong information, particularly freight class, then they expect you to pay the correct price based on your freight.
Your freight can be inspected by any carrier and if they find you were charged the wrong price they will adjust it to what you should have been billed.
These fees are from the carrier and not freightquote. Freightquote isn't a scam in any way, shape, or form.

I work for FreightQuote.com. We arrange 3500-4000 every DAY...five days/week. Anyone reading these comments should consider the scale here...plus the fact we're dealing with the freight industry and its myriad rules, regulations, employees, and as pointed-out: customers who purposely or unknowingly misstate the facts, receive a quote from us, and make a shipment. Then, of course, there's just bad luck. The word SCAM has no place here.

O.K. Here goes... I used to work at FreightQuote and I have to say they treat their employees horrible!!! BUT Freightquote is in no way, shape, or form a scam. What they do is work out rates with the carriers and pass savings down to companies that can't get really good rates. They do a margin mark-up that is very reasonable (no one forces you to use FQ) and it is included in the quote you are given. The businesses/people that are charged more after the fact, are done so because the carrier charged FQ more because of the wrong information. If you do not know your freight class and exact weights, expect changes in the price.
For those above that still don't get it, Imagine you are quoting out a house carpeting project and you tell them you have 2,000sq ft. needed. They quote you and then they get there and it's a 4,000sq. ft. needed. Do you really think it will cost the same as you were quoted with the bogus info you gave them....on top of that, for the same price you decide you want the upgraded carpet but think you should be charged the same...Hello??? These are the people who are talking trash in the comments above. Know what you are talking about before you write it down. You sound foolish.

I used to work at Freightquote.com and watched the place get worse and worse. Yes, they do treat their employees horribly, they have upper level management that not only doesn't know what they are doing, they blame the employees for the things that are going wrong there. It's a sweat shop in America. They do not care about the sales force at all and ride them until they are dead, get rid of them, and bring in other poor, unsuspecting new hires to wear out and discard. The upper level management? Don't know if they ever actually ever sold to customers. All they do is statistics and go by the 'hot' number of the day. What does this mean?
THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER!!! It is structured so that once a customer is brought on board and told how great the system is (which isn't that great), they are passed off onto customer service (which rotates like a revlolving door), or what they call PSR, or Premiere Service Reps, which they try to sell as a 'special service' to the large shippers. All this means is that these large shippers, or 'A' and 'B' accounts will get called about everyday, from many different people, to see if they will ship that day, and if not, then when. Then they get a call again. And again. And again. And, the sales person that they originally spoke to have it beaten into them that they are not to make calls to take care of the customer. So, while the customer thinks that they are building a relationship with a contact at FQ, they are opening up their front door to have MANY MANY people bombard them. And, if the phone calls aren't enough, then they send out spam emails on information that customers don't want: truckload rate sheets (even if they don't move truckload), when is your next shipment reminders, etc. And, the employees are whipped into doing this.
Then, the employees in sales MUST get 'lead' calls to the web site for a web tour for the amazing 'book the shipment yourself.' And the Divisional Managers train ways to 'trick' or lie to the customer to get them there. After that, when the customer does ship, there are hidden costs that may or may not show up on billing.
Why are they doing this? To drive up 'numbers,' such as number of 'customers' (which is basically any company that gets enrolled and has never shipped), and 'new shippers' (which may only ship once and never ship again, but are counted as shippers on the books). The new shippers could have shipped 7 years ago, but are counted as shippers.
They are driving up specific numbers to dress-up the companies performance to either sell it or go public. Either way, the new owners (whether a corporation or stockholders throught the market) will be buying into a company that will trend downward once the catalyst (current management) is gone.
So, to anyone who plans on shipping through Freightquote.com, beware. It is not a benefit to you. You can actually find better rates shopping and negotiating on your own. Because once you are in the system, there is no getting out. You will be called again and again and again on a regular basis at least every month.
For those that are looking to work there, beware. You will be treated with little respect or value. And, they will try to motivate you through weak 'spiff' programs, false concern and support, and ridiculous contests. Then, when they feel they don't want you there, for whatever reason (you name it), they make up a reason based off of many different measures they have you on (some of which are counter productive to one another) and walk you to the door.
What can I say? This place is absolutely horrid, and about 90% of the workforce will tell you so.

Ditto to the person who posted the above comment. It is a shame. When the CEO actually ran the company and cared about his employees, it was the most wonderful place in the world to work. When a new VP came in and decided that freight was not a relationship based business and tried to turn it into a telemarketing nightmare, the employee moral plummeted. FREIGHT CANNOT BE TELEMARKETED!!!
Freight is a business based on trust and service. The 'new' Freightquote breaks my heart! The employees that have been there for years still and always will know the true way to care for their customers, new and old. We are just sorry that it is out of our control these days.

I used Bob Nielson with Freightquote as the preferred shipping method for a company that I bought furniture from. I paid the qouted price, but two weeks after delivery I received a message that they are charging me almost double the quote, and if I did not pay it, the account will be given to a collection agency and ruin my credit. I spoke with a representative of the company who said that his name was 'Mr. Humsucker' (when I called back after hours his voicemail says Greg Humbecker), he admitted that the company I purchased the items from had never been contacted. He said I must to pay-up or have the account sent to a collection agency. Their seems to be a pattern of quoting a price, changing it after delivery, and then using the threat of a collection agency to extort money. DO NOT USE FREIGHTQUOTE.COM

90% of the people complaining on here know absolutely nothing about freight. They bash FQ because they screwed up and guessed at a weight or dimensions of a shipment. FQ does $400 million a year in freight and has grown at a rate much higher than the industry rate. They dont accomplish this by 'scamming' customers. These complainers are morons. They are one time Ebay people that dont know anything about freight and want to ship grandmas china cabinet. They get online put some guess at a weight and freight class (huh?? Freight class?? Whats that) get a cheap price and they book a shipment. If they are legitimate company they would not have to pay with a credit card. Individuals have to pay with a credit card. That tells you right there that these people claiming to have been charged after the fact are people that dont ever even ship freight. They ONLY way FQ charges a different amount is when then original information given was not accurate. Its a shame that morons feel the need to spew nonsense all over the internet. The good news is.. the only people that will believe this filth are people that probably have no experience with freight anyway.
