Under what account is a service running?

Question:

I installed a database server (InterBase) and want to confirm that it runs under the system account. What can I do?

Answer:

Go to the control panel and click on 'administrative tools', there on 'services'. In older windows versions (NT 3, 4) the 'services' were right in the control panel itself.

In the list of services find your service and you'll see under what account it is running or will be running. Usually it should be LocalSystem.
